Aaron after metabolic balance

Aaron, November 2010

I travel a lot for work, and my biggest challenge is keeping to a healthy diet surrounded by room service and corporate hospitality.

So far I’ve lost loads of weight with Metabolic Balance, and I’m finding it easy to integrate with my lifestyle.

At the start

TweetShareEmailI’ll be honest with you, this healthy eating diet thing isn’t something I’d normally consider. I like my food, I work long hours and don’t manage to exercise that regularly. I don’t eat meat, and always thought that this bought me some breathing room and made me healthier than most people. So why am I [...]

My test results

TweetShareEmailRight, so I knew I had a few pounds to shed.   But these results were about more than just weight. Eating Habits I drink too much wine, eat way too many carbohydrates and I don’t get enough protein. Weight & body measurements Weight: 98.8 BMI: 32.3 Blood test results So being overweight is about more [...]

The cleansing phase

TweetShareEmailIt’s easy to be ambitious at the beginning.  Started out with my 1.5kg of veggies a day, and thought to myself how refreshing my light breakfast was.  Then I got hungry and cranky.  But I did feel clean inside.  I decided that sweet corn and avocado could count as vegetable servings, and added lots of [...]

The principles explained

TweetShareEmailTo be honest, I can’t remember all nine rules.  But basically I remember 1) 5 hours between meals, 2) no eating what’s not on my plan, 3) drinking 3 litres of water per day, 4) no mixing proteins and eating three different proteins every day, 5) no snacking and 6) no eating crap food. > [...]

What my new eating regime looks like

TweetShareEmailThe first two weeks were challenging, but not impossible.  Really, it’s not hard to make oatmeal for breakfast or to have a salad and hunk of cheese for lunch.  I could even buy everything from M&S or Waitrose, so I didn’t have to be a loser who brought his lunch from home.  But then I [...]

Challenge: New eating habits & my trip to Singapore

TweetShareEmailI had a four day business trip to Singapore, which is known for being very clean and having great food.  I drank with dinner, but tried to stick to most principals most of the time. On the plane, it was turbulent so I had a G&T (2).  But I skipped all the courses and had [...]

Results: I dropped 30 pounds!

TweetShareEmailDrum roll … I just weighed myself today and I have now lost 30 pounds since I started the programme. So far so good! > NEXT: Was that girl checking me out? < PREV: Challenge: New eating habits and my trip to Singapore << Back to Aaron’s success story diary ^ See all success stories

Was that girl checking me out?

TweetShareEmailI’m very pleased about this.  Except my clothes look ridiculous.  I feel better, sleep better, and get better service from waitresses. > NEXT: Still only human, right? < PREV: Results: I dropped 30 pounds! << Back to Aaron’s success story diary ^ See all success stories

Still only human, right?

TweetShareEmailThis time of year is always difficult. I was aware of this even when I wasn’t following a healthy eating programme. Christmas parties, end-of-year dinners, catching up with friends … drinking, eating minced pies and lots of cookies – I like cookies. You get the picture. I find that if I stick to my breakfast [...]

Is this new lifestyle right for me? I think so!

TweetShareEmail I don’t even really miss my old eating habits.  To be honest, if I want some crisps or chips or other junk food (which is very rare), I have some – but try to keep it within the rules, with a meal, and a small portion (and to go for the nice ones).  I [...]
